Jared Goff's Revenge

Never have I seen a trade work out so well for both sides. Jared Goff was run out of LA, and Matthew Stafford desperately needs a change after being with the Lions for 12 years.

In 2021, the Lions and Rams traded starting QBs, and it couldn't have worked out any better. The Rams went on to win the Super Bowl after acquiring Stafford, and the Lions were able to acquire a ton of draft capital to build around Goff. It paid off in the end for both teams: a Super Bowl victory for the Rams, and the Rams reaching the NFC championship in 2023 with a lot of momentum going into the upcoming season.

This week, the Lions signed Jared Goff to a massive contract, making him the highest-paid Detroit Lion ever. It's a 4-year, $212 million extension with a guaranteed amount of $170 million.

The city of Detroit has rallied around and embraced Goff since his arrival, with Jared Goff chants breaking out at games and even during the draft.

In the end, Goff got his revenge by defeating Matthew Stafford and the Rams for the Lions' first home playoff win since 1993 and was rewarded with a massive contract. So go on, Jared Goff!
